Determination of the Stability of a High and Steep Highway Slope in a Basalt Area Based on Iron Staining Anomalies

In recent years, geological disasters have frequently occurred on basarlt highway slopes. Studying the stability of slopes in this type area is great significance for traffic safety. However, due to high cost and low efficiency traditional monitoring experimental methods slope engineering, these are not conducive quick comprehensive identification regional stability. Due iron content basalt, staining anomalies ore prospecting field reinterpreted from an engineering perspective study. Taking S3K section a Changbai County, China, as example, Landsat8 remote sensing (RS) images 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2021 selected, principal component analysis used extract region. Combined with investigation evidence collection, corresponding rock mass fragmentation distinguished via anomalies. Then, according previous research results, eight indexes including annual rainfall, slope, topographic relief, surface roughness, vegetation index, leaf index (LAI), root depth vegetation, human activity intensity selected investigation. The artificial neural network–cellular automata (ANN-CA) model established, classification data obtained based simulate area. Next, calculation formula determined simulation steep calculated analyzed. Finally, comparison actual shows that effect proposed method good. findings reveal it feasible judge basalt use indicator. tantamount expanding application scope RS practical engineering.
